This outfit from 3.1 Phillip Lim's Spring 2013 RTW collection inspired me to write a review on one of the most timeless clothing article of all time! Some might say that overalls are "so grunge" or "very 90's" and pass it up as a remerging trend, but it is very clear that even years later in 2013 it has been reinvented - to say the least - as something new and effortlessly chic. Today, overalls are being paired with virtually everything and can look super classy or very laid-back. It's all about what you decide to pair them with and accessorizing is the key to perfecting the look. Take the 3.1 Phillip Lim look above for example. The overalls still appear to have a grungy feel to them with the large pockets and cuffed bottoms but it looks refreshingly chic paired with the ankle boots, large frames and black printed top!
As a kid my all time favourite piece in my closet was my overalls; they had little flower designs on the front pocket and looked perfect with all my t-shirts! As the years have gone by I grew out of my "overalls all day everyday phase", but seeing them make a comeback all over blogs and fashion magazines brings all the great memories back...
